Notice is hereby given that the Annual Meeting for the Parish of Findern will be held on Thursday 25 April 2024 at 6.30pm. The venue for the meeting is the Methodist Church, Lower Green, Findern.

THE MEETING IS OPEN TO THE PRESS AND PUBLIC.

This is the annual meeting for the Parish of Findern; in addition to the annual report from the Parish Council, this is an opportunity for groups and organisations active in the village to give an update to residents on their activities over the previous year; and for parishioners on the Electoral Roll to raise any matters of concern to them that relates to their local community.

To consider any matters raised by electors. The Parish Meeting is an opportunity for parishioners

on the Electoral Roll to raise any matters of concern to them that relates to their local community.

It would be helpful to have written notice of any matters to be raised but it is not essential.

Matters can be raised at the meeting without prior notice.

Next Meeting of Findern Parish Council will take place on Thursday, 11 April 2024

The next Ordinary Meeting of Findern Parish Council will take place at 7.00pm on Thursday, 11 April 2024. The meeting will be held at the Methodist Church, Lower Green, Findern DE65 6AD.

PRESS AND PUBLIC ARE WELCOME TO ATTEND THE MEETING. The first 15 minutes of the meeting are allocated for public speaking; for residents to raise any issues.

A38 Toyota to Mickleover maintenance scheme – Starting 8 April 2024

Commencing on 8 April 2024 and lasting for 3 months, National Highways will commence on a maintenance scheme on the A38 between Toyota Island and Mickleover. They will be carrying out repairs to the safety barrier in the central reservation; also, will be carrying out vegetation clearance and grass cutting along this section.

When will this work take place?

The work is planned to start on Monday 8 April 2024, and expected to finish by the end of June 2024. The work will take place overnight when traffic counts are lower, between 8pm and 6am, Monday to Friday.

To carry out the work safely, the work will be done under a combination of full carriageway closures and lane closures, between Toyota Island and the A516 junction at Mickleover. This work will be carried out under the following phases:

  • Phase 1 – 8 April to 19 April – full northbound carriageway closures from Toyota Island to the A516 Mickleover junction. A southbound lane 2 closure will be in place during these times.
  • Phase 2 – 22 April to 17 May – full southbound carriageway closures from A516 Mickleover junction to Toyota Island. A northbound lane 2 closure will be in place during these times.
  • Phase 3 – 20 May to 7 June – northbound lane closures from Toyota Island to the A516 Mickleover junction.
  • Phase 4 – 10 June to 21 June – southbound lane closures from A516 Mickleover junction to Toyota Island.

The following diversion route will be in place for both northbound and southbound closures:

Emergency vehicles will have access throughout.

National Highways are sorry for the disruption this work may cause; they encourage drivers to plan ahead and allow extra time when travelling. All closures are subject to change at short notice due to unforeseen circumstances or poor weather conditions.
