Notice for the Exercise of Public Rights – Annual Audit 2022/23

Confirmation of the dates for the period for the exercise of public rights as part of the External Audit process for Findern Parish Council audit and accounts 2022/23.

Each year the smaller authority’s Annual Governance and Accountability Return (AGAR) needs to be reviewed by an external auditor appointed by Smaller Authorities’ Audit Appointments Ltd. The unaudited AGAR has been published with the attached notice. As it has yet to be reviewed by the appointed auditor, it is subject to change as a result of that review.

Any person interested has the right to inspect and make copies of the accounting records for the financial year to which the audit relates and all books, deeds, contracts, bills, vouchers, receipts and other documents relating to those records must be made available for inspection by any person interested. For the year ended 31 March 2023, these documents will be available on reasonable notice by application to the Clerk:

Next meeting of Findern Parish Council will take place at 7.00pm on Thursday, 8 June 2023

The next Ordinary Meeting of Findern Parish Council will take place at 7.00pm on Thursday, 8 June 2023. The meeting will be held at Highfields Spencer Academy, Tutbury Avenue, Highfields, DE23 3UX. The Parish Council hopes this will give residents of Highfields the opportunity to more easily access a Parish Council meeting.

The Parish Council meetings on 12 October 2023 will also be held at Highfields Spencer Academy. All other monthly meetings are held at Findern Methodist Church, Lower Green, Findern, DE65 6AD.

PRESS AND PUBLIC ARE WELCOME TO ATTEND THE MEETING. The first 15 minutes of the meeting are allocated for public speaking; for residents to raise any issues.

You should not attend a meeting in person if:

  • you have coronavirus symptoms: a high temperature, loss or change to sense of smell or taste, a new continuous cough.
  • if you have tested positive for COVID-19 or are waiting for a test result.
