Findern Parish Council is recruiting a Parish Warden

Findern Parish Council is recruiting a part-time Parish Warden to help keep areas clean and tidy with the regular removal of litter across the public open space and footpaths, mainly around the Highfields area. If this is of interest to you, read on…

The role will be carried out in accordance with the relevant legislation and with specific emphasis on health and safety. All equipment will be provided.

The Parish Warden will also act as the “eyes and ears” for the Council, reporting any concerns or areas requiring attention to the Parish Clerk including any health and safety issues observed whilst undertaking the role.

  • The role is responsible to the Parish Clerk for day-to-day issues and the

hours of work will be up to 6 hours per week, worked flexibly to

accommodate the needs of the service.

  • Rate of pay is National Living Wage, currently £8.91 per hour for anyone

aged 23 or over (rising to £9.50 in April 2022).

  • There are 20 days annual leave plus 8 statutory leave days (pro rata based

on 37-hour week).

Have your say – consultation on proposals for the policing part of the Council Tax precept for 2022/23

Police & Crime Commissioner, Angelique Foster, is consulting on proposals for the policing part of the Council Tax precept for 2022/23.

The survey aims to understand the amount of Council Tax that is contributed from residents towards policing for 2022/23. Responses can be submitted online and the survey will close on Sunday 16th January 2022.

Festive Findern! Christmas Light Switch-on event on The Green – Saturday 4 December

It is the start of Festive Findern! All are welcome to join the Parish Council at The Green for the switching on of the Christmas Lights.

There will be entertainment for the children and mulled wine for the adults!

Santa is coming along too!

Next meeting of the Parish Council will be on 9 December 2021

An Ordinary Meeting of Findern Parish Council will take place at 7.00pm on Thursday, 9 December 2021. The meeting will be held at the Methodist Church, Lower Green, Findern.

PRESS AND PUBLIC ARE WELCOME TO ATTEND THE MEETING. However, please note the precautions below regarding COVID.

You should not attend a meeting in person if:

  • you have coronavirus symptoms: a high temperature, loss or change to sense of smell or taste, a new continuous cough.
  • if you have tested positive for COVID-19 or are waiting for a test result.
  • if you have been instructed by the NHS to self-isolate.
  • you have recently returned from travel abroad and should be either self-isolating or quarantining.

Keeping meetings, employees and visitors safe

When you attend the meeting, keep yourself and others safe by following the Government’s guidance at all times. Our safety measures require:

  • advised to wear a face covering, unless exempt.
  • maintaining some distance from others.
  • using the hand sanitiser provided upon entrance to and exit from the meeting room.

In line with national track and trace requirements we ask that you provide the Clerk with your name, email address and telephone number at the meeting. Your details will be held on record for 21 days from the date of the meeting and then they will be securely deleted.
